  • Minutes from November 29, 2015 Meeting – were accepted unanimously.

 

  • Treasurer’s Report – as presented by Al Sordi was also accepted unanimously. The checkbook balance at 4/30/16 was $7,037.42. Al reported that the Northcrest Civic Association paid the electricity costs for three sets of lights:  (1) at the Northcrest sign, (2) in the park, and (3) on the pole at the intersection of Walter Drive and Marsh Road.

 

  • Unfinished Business

 

  • Snow removal – Snow removal service was good this winter, according to residents present.  Frank Lusch mentioned that no salting was needed.  Dues were reduced to $15 per home for 2015/2016 to reflect the savings for snow removal costs because of the mild winter.

 

  • Northcrest Park Information – New Castle County engineers continue to study water and drainage issues. These need to be corrected before any work can proceed on a possible bocce court.  President Frank Lusch plans to meet with Paul Johnson in the New Castle County Parks Department to discuss status.

 

  • Property at the “Y” Intersection – of Zebley and Marsh. Grass is being cut on this property.  No information is available on future plans for the land.  (As of August 2016, there were building plans posted on the property.)  A resident had safety concerns about a deep hole on the side of the road at this intersection near a sewer grate.

 

  • New Business

 

  • Officers for 2016 – 2017 – There were no nominations for new officers. Present officers were nominated to continue with the exception of the Secretary who chose not to run for reelection.  Officers elected were:

 

                             President – Frank Lusch

Vice President – Marilyn Letts

Secretary – Mary Sordi

Treasurer – Al Sordi

 

  • Northcrest Entrance Sign – A few residents mentioned that some of the lights were often out of service. Some of the fixtures may need repair or replacement.

 

  • Northcrest Home Sales – Frank commented that several properties have sold very quickly. The marketability of the neighborhood appears to remain strong.

 

  • Good and Welfare of the Community – A resident inquired if there would be a way to slow down traffic on Zebley Road, particularly at the Wrexham Road intersection. This is the bus stop for the neighborhood school children.  A possible stop sign or blinking speed warning was suggested.
